‘Twas The Night…

A night before Shenanigans day

‘Twas the night before shenanigans day, and all through the office

Not a creature was stirring, not even the bosses;

The beer was stocked in the kegerator with care

In hopes that festivities would soon be there;

The services team was at home getting rested

Knowing the next day they’d probably be wasted.

The measurement team had been prepping for days

Hoping to not end Friday completely in a haze.

Little did they know on Washington in building 701

There was a little Octopus, who was having some fun.

He had found some games, and an ugly Christmas Sweater

And decided to practice his ping pong, hoping to get better.

The table was moved, so he could use all 8 of his arms

And even though he was loud, he didn’t set off any alarms.

After playing against himself he got really thirsty,

So he found Jim’s Protein powder and mixed it up in a hurry.

After pounding that powder and eating some snacks

He found the speakers and blasted them to the max.

Finding a Ukulele he played some great cords,

And with his other tentacles he played Shuffle Board.

After getting his fill of music and singing,

He transitioned to the gladiator game and started springing.

He used all 8 arms to fight against himself,

Either way, earning that Octopus trophy for his shelf.

He soon felt mischievous and decided to prank Chuck,

Thinking that no one would probably give a … hoot.

He took Scott’s Whip Board and drew out designs,

Making sure he would finish his prank in time.

However, as the night went on, the Octopus got lonely,

And he cried, and he cried, wishing for some cronies.

Then low and behold! There was a clatter at the door!

It was Dale! Who couldn’t wait to tell the Octopus what was in store.

“I’ve created this great day!” He said with a grin,

“All about Shenanigans and I think you’d fit right in.”

He taught the Octopus how to play wacky wall walkers,

And they drank lots of beer, intermixed with just a bit of water.

Dale and the Octopus plaid extreme Rock, Paper, Scissors

And the Octopus was starting to realize that Dale was a game Wizard.

By now it was late, and the Octopus was tired,

He needed sleep because tomorrow, his presence was required.

“Thank you, thank you!” the Octopus said.

“Shenanigans day is the greatest! I hope that it spreads”

As the Octopus traveled home, the Ovative offices almost out of sight

He exclaimed, Happy Shenanigan’s day to all, and to all a good night!
